Journeyman Harper Cadysarl

Name: Cadysarl
Age: 21
Gender: Male
Rank/Craft: Journeyman Harper (Artist)
Residence: Ithaca Hold

Description: Cadysarl (also called 'Cadie' by his friends) is a thin young man, standing at 5'7'' tall. He has bright, turquoise eyes that are surrounded by long, thick lashes. He has a cute button nose and his full lips are more often than not smiling happily. His hair is an unruly mop of blond hair, but it fits his boyish looks that make him look younger than his twenty-one Turns. The artist is still recovering from a physical attack that left him with broken ribs among other things, and subsequent illness, both of which made him lose weight and grow pale and weak.

Personality: Most people would describe Cadysarl as 'odd'. He is an artistic savant, and this means that he sees the world somewhat differently than the rest of the people. Sadness and anger sit ill on Cadysarl's heart and he is most of the time happy and excited about nearly everything. Cadysarl is honest to a fault, and somewhat clumsy in the social setting, since he tends to say what is on his mind, whether it is appropriate or not. His moods change often like those of a child's; he can be pouting one minute and laughing happily the next. Nevertheless he is capable of loving someone deeply, but his eagerness to make friends is often marred by his odd characteristics scaring people away.

Background: Cadysarl was enrolled to the Harper Hall for his pure singing voice, but his singer's career got cut short when he fell ill with a lung disease and lost his voice completely for several months. The disease passed, leaving him with scarring in his lungs, which can still make him grow breathless when exercising physically for prolonger periods at a time.

When he was bed-bound from the disease, Cadysarl's doodling habit caught the eye of a Senior Journeyman who realized just how valuable in his type of career could be a man who could draw people's faces from memory. Since the disease robbed him of his singing, Cadysarl was turned over to the artistic side of the Craft, where his true skills surfaced more fully. The time not used on art lessons he spent under the tutoring of the harper operative Catch, who intended to utilize the young man's skills on the field.

Cadysarl walked the tables with glowing grades and was immediately put to work by Catch. Throughout the Turns since then, Cadysarl has immortalized the faces of many a lawless thug, sometimes from descriptions only, thus providing invaluable help to his superiors. However, during his career he has also had several nasty accounters with 'meanies' as he calls them, which have left him with physical scars, and he has also suffered relapses of his lung disease, which will never go completely away, surfacing whenever he is very stressed or in poor health generally.

After the latest relapse proved to be life-threatening, Catch decided that it was in both their best interests if Cadysarl would be removed from the field and offered a more permanent place in some Hold's harper staff. Such a safehaven was found from Ithaca Hold, where Ivelyn, Catch's own mentor, had moved to. After some misunderstandings when they first met, Cadysarl has gained Ivelyn's approval to the extent that he is now teaching arts at the fledgling harper hall. He also has a steady relationship with Ferask, who has recently returned to Healer Craft after Turns' absence. His cousin, Regelkin, works as the first mate on the ship 'Southern Snarl', which is part of what has been dubbed as Pirate Snatchers by Catch.
