Name: V'nes (NPC/free) Age: 32 Gender: Male Rank/Craft: Brown Rider Residence: Ithaca Weyr Description: V'nes is darkly tanned, with black eyes and wavy black hair that's streaked with a few greys. He's tall, but not unreasonably so, and muscled in the manner of all dragonriders. Sun-lines radiate from his eyes when he smiles, flashing bright white teeth like lightning from his dark face. Usually, though, he wears a serious expression. Personality: V'nes is the shy type, talking only when he's addressed or feels like his point of view is not being voiced in a meeting. He uses Shamanth a lot to communicate to other riders in private. Most people don't know his actual life story, but his few close friends tend to know everything about him, betraying that fact that he is very open once he gets to know someone. A lot of people get put off by his silence and says that he is arrogant. Pay him a compliment, though, and one will soon see quite the opposite when he mumbles a denial and looks away. Background: V'nes asked for a transfer mostly for reasons unknown beyond the fact that he felt that it was necessary due to the changing circumstances of his social life that would probably interfere with his Threadfighting. His shyness precludes his being a Wingsecond or Wingleader but he is a driven wingrider. He was born in the North and transferred South when one Weyr exchanged him for another rider who needed to be closer to home for some reason. V'nes left behind a dear love and a son for a man he never met, but was soon rewarded when he made new friends and new loves in his new home. At times, he wistfully thinks of his past but his heart is far from broken. He had and still will experience things that will try his spirit but he has a solid disposition that rolls with the punches and makes him a rider worth his weight in gold as both a wingmate and a friend. He is eager to show what he can do at his new assignment in Ithaca. Dragon's Name: Shamanth Color: Brown Age: 14 Age of Rider at Impression: 18 Description: Shamanth is as dark as his rider except on the Threadscores that mark every limb and across his back and down his nose and neck. A deep one on his left forearm still aches every once in a while. Personality: His riders need to correspond privately with many riders makes Shamanth considerably less shy. He'll strike up a conversation with any dragon though he is not inclined to flirt unless the green is ready to fly by the next day at the latest. He usually doesn't show interest in gold dragons, though his rider has had the rare fling with goldriders. He shares his riders steady dedication to every Weyr he lives in. |
