Green Rider Min

Description: Min is a tall leggy blonde, which should be most men's dream, but for some reason, she isn't too lucky when it comes to finding a mate. She has tip-tilted green eyes, hair like flax, a ready smile, and an expressive face. She is fit, and her size has allowed her a freedom most women do not have : she has no fear of men physically overpowering her.  

Personality: Min's only emotional shield has been her sense of humor, which she uses well and often -- which is not to say that when she's being humorous, she's on the defensive. She is outgoing and friendly, and likes to be the center of attention, but this trait frequently causes her to be thought of as not being very serious. In her defense she is also a compassionate woman, and wants to take care of her friends and family.  

Background: Min's mother Mayanara did not truly know who Min's father was, hence the unusual name. Every time Min asked, she was supplied a different name. But she did not hold this against her mother, as she saw it as her mother's attempt to protect her from the potential hurts of reality. Min believes that her father is a dragonrider (since they had the most contact with her dragonhealer mother) but is not sure who, or really cares. While born at a Crom holding, she spent a great deal of time at High Reaches Weyr, but was quite flabbergasted that she would ever be picked as candidate. At 15, she Impressed Croibhristh, and of course it was a life-changing event. The pair fell right into their lives at High Reaches quite perfectly. Min is a greenrider to the bone, and most of her relationships have been companionable rather than swooning passions. One brownrider did not quite like that treatment, and the relationship became strained, then antagonistic. Despite conceiving from a mating flight with the pair, Min loathes T'ner. When a Southern weyr asked for a green pair, Min and Croibhristh left High Reaches Weyr about a Turn ago. The heat and lack of welcome have convinced her to move on to Ithaca where she happens to know a good number of riders. 

Although Min is considered a dragonhealer journeywoman, it is more from hands-on experience than actual formal training. Her mother taught her many facts, skills, and anatomy as she handed her mother whatever she needed at a dragon's side. Min is deft with needle and thread, and has saved many a sail from Threadscore that might otherwise mean a flightless dragon. Min's mother passed away a few months before the end of the Turn. 

Min's child, Maitane, is living quite happily at Nabol Hold, thinking in her three year old way that she is the daughter of weavers.

Physical Description: Croibhristh is a long, slender, elegant dragon (and flaunts it), with dark shadings along her back and flanks. Her sails are a paler, almost seafoam green. Min is fond of calling her "The Jade One." 

Personality: Min is out-going: Croibhristh is quiet, almost shy, by nature. While her rider is frequently goofy, Croibhristh is dignified, and on the reserved side. She tries to impress (no pun intended!) upon Min the need to remain calm and cool, she doesn't see that happening any time soon. But, as with all dragons, she is completely and totally devoted to Min, and basically thinks anything Min does is right and good. Sometimes, she tries to 'help' Min, and the green has been known to be sneaky too.
