Name: Z'nyl Age: 28 Gender: Male Rank/Craft: Blue Rider / Apprentice Woodcrafter Residence: Ithaca Weyr Description: Z'nyl is about six foot tall, sandy-haired with deep brown 'bedroom eyes'. He has an honest, handsome face and what his weyrmates in addition to a great many other men and women in the Weyr consider to be almost perfect male body. Z'nyl has an inch wide Threadscar that runs along his left upper arm from shoulder to elbow. Personality: Although not the brightest glow in the basket, Z'nyl has a big heart and although he can at times be childish, moody or thoughtless, usually he means well and is taken aback if his good intentions are doubted. Though sometimes shy with strangers, Z'nyl is anything but in the company of friends and lovers. He has a quick temper, but doesn't bear grudges. Background: Although he was born on a fishing boat and grew up in a seaside cothold, Zoltanyl never felt the Big Wet was his own element. So, for want of better to do, he apprenticed to his Woodcrafter uncle, Zeliko. Z'nyl was Searched and stood a couple of times for naught, but eventually Impressed the blue Volianth. He has led a pretty normal life for a handsome bluerider, having had his heart broken once very badly, as he fell in love with a Journeyman Forester called Rasoul, who then died in a logging accident. When he was still desolate with this loss, Stavan stepped into his life and, with remarkable tenderness and stubbornity, won over his heart. The bluerider is madly in love with his mate and jealous of other men's affections towards Stavan, excepting greenrider C'kle and cook-in-training Cabrin, who are their intimate friends and occasional lovers, having a very tight, loving bond themselves. C'kle is a very gentle person, who could never knowingly harm another human in his right mind. He is only 5'5" tall, blond-haired with blue eyes and slender in build. He likes stability in his life and so is rather happy about the arrangement, which lets him live with his lover, Cabrin, while Traeth has her mate in Volianth. The four of them moved to Ithaca together, and although Stavan is the only one with any prior experience with snow and colder weather, it seems that the others, too, are getting used to it. Evene Z'nyl grumbles about the cold only to have a legitimate reason to wrap himself around Stavan every evening. Dragon's Name: Volianth Color: Blue Age: 12 Age of Rider at Impression: 16 Description: Volianth is a normally built blue, 28 m long from his muzzle to the tip of his tail, with a 46 m wingspan. His colour is somewhat darker than a sunny summer sky, except in the areas of Threadscore scars, which show as pale blue lines -- permanent reminders of close encounters with the silver menace. His mate, C'kle's green Traeth, is some Turns younger, a smaller sort of green with slightly longer tail than is the norm, but whenever she's glowing brightly, she's the most beautiful green in the world that Volianth knows. Personality: Volianth is almost always happy and at ease with the world. The only times he worries about anything are when Z'nyl is depressed or hurt. He has a draconic sense of humour, so his rider doesn't always share the laugh. Fighting Thread is one thing Volianth always takes seriously; he is determined not to let _any_ touch the ground of Pern, even if he has to fly straight into it. Traeth is a mild and loving personality, except when someone does something utterly stupid that puts a dragon or a rider in danger. She also will not hesitate to charge any kind of threat when C'kle's well-being is in question. Pet Name: Nosy Pet Species: Firelizard Pet Color: Blue Pet Description: "Go bother someone else!" Nosy has his name for a reason. This fluttering fire-lizard leaves nothing interesting alone. And, unfortunately, he is interested in everything. Nosy is bright sky-blue colour and has some scars on his tail from a lucky escape in a Threadfall. He has only recently learned the art of being the obedient little firelizard, but even that he mainly does to impress Stavan's little green Kyna.
