Journeywoman Tierna
Name: Tierna Description: Short, salty, cute, saucy – all good words to describe this weaver. She is made out of klah as well – sweet tan skin, shimmering light brown hair, dreamy nut brown eyes, and a sprinkling of cinnamon freckles across her nose and cheeks. While petite, she has dangerous curves that have caught many a man's eye…she's not spilling out of her bodice per se, but she's just built well in the right spots. Her hands are nimble and deft, and she's got nicely turned forearms from her manual labors. As she lives in a Weyr (since 17 or so) she's strong and tireless and full of energy….well, until she drops in her tracks. But after a cup of two or klah, she's ready for more action. Personality: Salty and saucy are two words, but Tierna is also bright, thrifty, organized and uninhibited. She knows her body and knows how to use it – and use it she does. She can be emotional at times, and has been known to stop in her tracks mentally but she generally goes with the flow in most matters. To her, there's no reason to sweat anything other than Thread. And unlike most women, she does not get the heebie-jeebies from gossamer spinners. Background: Tierna is a Southern woman through and through, and has lived almost her entire life not needing many of the things she is so skilled at making: blankets, scarves, mittens, shawls, sweaters, wraps, et cet. She was sent to a Southern Weavercraft Hall when it was apparent she had skill with all manners of thread (Southern Boll was an option for her skill but too far away). The only thread she couldn't handle was Thread from the skies, which has always terrified her. She took to her studies with glee but was a little bored with the social set-up of the Hall. When there was need at a local Weyr for a journeywoman weaver, she took the assignment eagerly. Tierna would've Impressed a green if she'd ever had the opportunity, and made up for lost time once she was at the Weyr. As she's barren, she felt out of place in Hold and Hall where childbearing is expected, but it was no matter at the Weyr. In several cases this "problem" has been a good thing. Early in the last Turn, she ran into Bronzerider M'ehdi first casually then…. She flirted outrageously, and as he was a bit on the bitter side with the Healer he was involved with at the time, he flirted back quite happily. The Healer, a woman named Celaeno, exited the scene after a bit more fuss. However, M'ehdi picked that moment to fall from his mount Avasth during Fall. In the Infirmary, he welcomed Tierna's attentions and they realized after his close brush with death that they loved each other rather deeply. When he transferred to Ithaca Weyr, she followed but then there was this 'misunderstanding' about where M'ehdi was destined. He has continued on to Ithaca, but Tierna has stayed behind temporarily at High Reaches Weyr to attain her mastery.
Pet Name: Needle Pet Description: Needle is regal, dainty and laid back, a languorous queen content to let others pamper her. She is smart though, and will do anything Tierna asks. It has to be Tierna though, or Needle is apt to ignore you since you are ...well, not Tierna. Even though Avasth is much too big for her, Needle seems to have a crush on him. She is sunshine reflecting off brightly polished, glimmering gold. Last Updated: 05/14/2006 |
