Blue Rider A'mor

Name: A'mor
Age: 26
Gender: Male
Rank/Craft: Blue Rider
Residence: Ithaca Weyr

Description: A'mor is considered ruggedly handsome. He is not a "pretty boy" but has caused many heads to turn, both male and female. He isn't overly tall, in fact, slightly shorter then average, about 5'10". He is somewhat stocky... muscular, but not too much. He has kept trim and fit, like most in the Weyr, by Turns of riding and fighting Thread. Not an ounce of fat can be found on his body... well, maybe an ounce, although the bluerider would never admit it. His sun-lightened brown waves are, more often than not, longer than the norm. So used to brushing the silky strands out of his eyes, the bluerider just never gets around to cutting them. His eyes, a bright blue, seem even brighter against his tan skin as they look out from behind eyelashes so thick they make women jealous.

A'mor is an indifferent dresser, to say the least. He doesn't give small matters such as choosing clothes much consideration. He can normally be found in mismatched garments, chosen for comfort and cleanliness rather then style. He is often made fun of for his two different boots, but he insists that he is right about them. The stubborn rider is convinced that the right one of his black pair is far more comfortable, and the left brown boot is definitely more comfortable than its mate. So why should one suffer with one hurting foot, when they can have two that don't hurt?

Personality: A'mor has an aura of mystery about him that people are always trying to penetrate. He doesn't seek information nor does he divulge it, much to everyone's dismay. A'mor is all about secrets. It isn't intentional. He just believes that people should mind their own business. He generally hates gossip and the people that spread it. Of course, that attitude makes him a wonderful and often a target.

A'mor is a stable rider, very reliable. His friends know that they can trust him with anything and often come to the experienced rider for advice. A'mor is slow to anger, figuring there is no point in getting mad, since anger doesn't solve anything. But beware to all when his carefully held-in emotions finally boil over. It doesn't happen very often, and even then usually in the defense of another, but if someone gets A'mor mad, they'll know it.

The bluerider is serious and quiet... most of the time. However he isn't afraid to speak his mind. A'mor tends to avoid large groups if at all possible, except when he is heavily into the cups. Get a few glasses of wine into him -- it isn't hard to do, as he is a big fan of good Benden -- and the bluerider opens up, not so much him but his personality. He becomes friendly, outgoing, and full of cynical humor -- a person that people like being around.

Background: All his life A'mor has been a "watcher." Instead of experiencing life for himself, he observed it...and painted it. His art was a refuge -- a place to go instead of thinking. He painted and fought Thread, living nothing but a dreary existence if not for his life-mate. His rider's sporadic "down" attitude distressed Pagnith immensely. He was greatly relieved when they moved from the North, and his rider didn't go to the "dark place" anymore. This part of A'mor, the depression, is almost a sub-personality, within his real personality. It doesn't happen often, but every once in a while, A'mor slips and his carefully hidden depression leaks out...

Not much is known about A'mor, and that is the way he would like it to stay. Many rumors fly about the Weyr, but the only thing anybody knows for certain is that he is from Fort.

During his time in the new Weyr the bluerider has had a few long-term relationships, the most notable one with the dolphineer Corlin, but that ended when the young man found out about A'mor cheating on him with a female greenrider, who later on became pregnant by A'mor, but had a miscarriage, which made her decide to leave the Weyr. Since then A'mor has been alone relationship-wise, but definitely not suffering of loneliness in his bed. He has an ongoing struggle to keep some of his storages of the precious Benden white safe from C'ander, but he rarely complains too seriously when wine has been gone missing, since the two lovers usually take him to their bed as compensation.

When word came that Ithaca Weyr needed experienced riders to join their ranks, a group of A'mor's friends decided that it would be a grand idea. A new Weyr, a new life and with it, a new adventure. The bluerider was very hesitant to leave, not because he loved his home, but rather was comfortable. After considerable urging from all members of the group A'mor agreed to make the move, and is settling into Ithaca nicely.

Dragon's Name: Pagnith
Color: Blue
Age: 12
Age of Rider at Impression: 14

Description: Pagnith is slightly smaller than the norm but makes up for his lack in size with an abundance of speed and maneuverability. He is a rich blue color all over, the color of the ocean at its deepest. Massive scarring from flying into a patch Thread covers the left side of his underbelly, creating a light blue island amidst the dark stormy sea.

Personality: Pagnith is logical, to say the least. Often, he will sum up, in a few words, something that had been troubling his rider. The dragon feels A'mor tries to complicate things, when really they are very easy. He is very intelligent and outspoken. He isn't afraid to tell his rider when he acting like an idiot and has no qualms about telling others as well. What A'mor doesn't know is that many of the rumors flying around the Weyr about him were started by his own dragon! His rider might not like to gossip; Pagnith, however, does and trading the much sought after information about his rider gets him all the juicy tidbits.

Pet Name: Glit
Pet Species: Firelizard
Pet Color: Brown

Pet Description: Glit is quite large for a brown. His size comes in handy for the many tasks that his human asks of him. The little brown is very well trained and is often sent to fetch things... normally a paint brush or a few meatrolls if his human is being exceptionally forgetful. Pagnith and he work as a team to make sure that A'mor takes care of himself. The rider would never neglect the two of them but often forgets that he needs to eat and bathe occasionally.

Glit has an obsession with shiny things and always has at least one stash somewhere of little items. He flutters about the Weyr drawn to anything that glitters. The flit, on one occasion, actually ripped a lump of Corlin's silky gold strands out of his head -- they were too pretty to pass up! His favorite game, besides collecting pretty things, was harassing Corlin, but since the young dolphineer went back to his Craft, the ingenious flitter has had to find new targets.
