Description: M'ehdi is not very tall, above most women but just under average for men (5'10" if you're measuring). He does not appear at first glance to be very impressive as far as bronzeriders go. He is well-made, sleek and strong but lithe enough that women tend to try and stuff him, thinking he doesn't get enough to eat. No one has figured out that he has a dragon's second stomach yet. Not huge and hulking, he is far from weak, with quite a good bit of stamina to boot. He has glossy brown hair, very dark with some lighter streaks from the sun, and a patch of grey behind his left ear, and all of it wants to curl in high humidity. M'ehdi tends to keep it collar length because it's long enough to tuck into his leathers but short enough to manage. Sharp, dark, dark eyes set above hard cut cheeks bones give him a fierce look if he is the slightest bit displeased. However, his sensual mouth softens his intense eyes with the slightest twist. He is one of the less common Pernese men who can grow a beard, but he keeps it fairly trimmed and neat. Last Turn, M'ehdi fell in a Threadfall accident, breaking his right leg badly, and dislocating his right arm. He limps in cold weather, but is otherwise healing well. There is a long scar on his right side from a gash, running almost from armpit to hip.

Personality: In personal relationships, M'ehdi is calm, self-assured, even gleeful. He has his down periods, but tends to become very self-absorbed and withdrawn when depressed, rather than lashing out at those around him. He generally possesses a nice disposition. In professional relationships, especially in the air, M'ehdi is very strict and demanding, pushing himself and his wing past self-imposed limits, frequently with excellent results. He is militant when "commanding," a completely different man. Not a man to cross when he's in charge, M'ehdi has been known to make a few roughly handled egos outright hostile. (And no, he doesn't care.) With lovers, he is fairly ambivalent, letting Avasth choose a mate, and taking the rider as part of it (or not). "Ambition" has never really crossed M'ehdi's mind so much as "good for the Weyr." He has been wingleader or wingsecond on just about every level Flight and every Wing. He is not scheming enough to thwart his way to Weyr leadership, but if Avasth caught the right gold, he would be up to the task and do the best he could.

Background: Born to a cotholder and itinerant harper, Matomehdi was raised by his mother and aunties near High Reaches Hold. It wasn't until he was Searched that he realized that his mother need not be ashamed of her 'fall from grace.' And that he had several half-brothers and -sisters! Thinking he wouldn't Impress, Matomehdi made plans to go the Harper Hall in search of his father. Avasth happened first. Eight turns ago, M'ehdi transferred to a Southern weyr when his mother died. After some interesting encounters, he is now involved with Journeywoman Weaver Tierna, in a more or less permanent way. It was about the middle of Turn 36 when he had his accident. He is very aware that he should have died, but does not dwell on it if he can help it. It was a close thing for a while, but M'ehdi looks to be on the way to a complete recovery. Even though still grounded from his fall, M'ehdi took the opportunity to return North when offered. Eight turns of blistering, mind-numbing, blinding heat was more than enough for the High Reaches-bred man (Avasth has a slightly different opinion). M'ehdi has a 12 Turn old daughter, Soheil, fostered in the Lower Caverns. Her mother Capulin, a greenrider from High Reaches, is deceased. Soheil is the only one anyone ever bothered to inform him was his get, but M'ehdi is certain there are others. Capulin's death however makes Soheil a bit more important to him.

Description: Avasth is a well-spread out dragon: long, lithe, and with a large wingspan. He is not a notably bulky dragon, but can hold his own in mating flights. He is of a bright shade of bronze, with hints of greenish iridescence on his back legs and belly. He also happens to make a lot of noise: a talking dragon.

Personality: Avasth is dignified and polite, friendly when he needs to be, or reserved if the situation calls for it. He is a very proud dragon, and is confident his rider can do anything he sets his mind to. He is much more well balanced than M'ehdi, who is not all that unbalanced at all, but dragons do tend to be calming influences. He is intolerant of other dragons who do not care if there are feelings (dragon or rider) involved. But he also likes to keep himself surrounded by females, unless he's helped put eggs on the Sands (in which case, he's hovering). Avasth has fathered an average number of clutches for his age.
