Name: O'daron (Obedaron) Age: 20 Gender: Male Rank/Craft: Blue Rider Residence: Ithaca Weyr Description: Standing at about 5'10", O'daron is still growing and will probably catch up to his father's six feet of height, when he is full-grown. He has wide shoulders and a promise of a muscular frame that hasn't yet quite had time to catch up with his late-teens growth spurt. He 'suffers' from the same genetic hiccup that makes his father grow a beard, and so O'daron tends to have some stubble on his chin as he often forgets to shave in the morning. Black hair and dark blue eyes attached to a charming smile and a handsome face make this young man quite irresistible to many, both male and female, and if it wasn't for his good nature, he could have turned out quite a heart-breaker. Personality: Most of the time O'daron can be found in a bubbly-happy state of mind that very many people find immensely irritating, especially since trying to converse with him can end up feeling like you're trying to have an argument with a five-Turns-old. The young bluerider does have another mood mode, which can at first look seem totally opposite to his happy-bouncy mood, but neither is false nor more real - he just sometimes chooses to take something in life more seriously. O'daron has a very keen interest in other people and their lives, often to the extent of forgetting to live his own, and in this he is greatly helped by the fact that he has eidetic memory - he is unable to forget even a single little detail of anything he has ever seen, heard or experienced. Being capable of recalling conversations he has heard Turns since can be a great asset if used right. It can also be extremely irritating, if you're trying to have an argument with him. When he takes it on to cheer up someone, O'daron really can't be stopped by anything short of the other person dying or transferring away. As a friend he can be extremely loyal, and as a lover very tender and understanding. Background: Obedaron was born in Southern Weyr to brownrider G'duro and a Lower Caverns woman Emminasen. As a child he was very lively and active, quite as often getting into troubles as he got others out of them. Disliking any sentient creature, especially humans or dragons, being hurt, the young Obedaron fashioned himself something of a healer, whenever he could escape his kitchen duties. Though the harpers teaching the Weyr children noticed quite early on that Obedaron had an excellent memory for every little detail, they also found out that he was very easily distracted or lost in thought, thus making him unsuitable for their plans. Once it even happened that being distracted in the kitchen made Obedaron partially responsible for several people getting stomach troubles from eating badly-spiced ovine stew at a Hatching feast. In fact, the only place where the boy seemed to be able to concentrate fully and not let his thoughts wander, was the Infirmary. A possibly promising healer career was cut short, however, when Obedaron was Searched the day he Turned fourteen, and then, only a couple of sevendays after that, he Impressed the little blue Katajath. O'daron, as he became known, did well in weyrling training and the bluepair are steady and dependable Threadfighters. That was one reason why his transfer application was swiftly approved of, when he wanted to explore the interesting possibilities of the Western Continent. They arrived to Ithaca Weyr shortly after Turnover in T37PP, where O'daron has - to his complete surprise - found out that he is in fact paternal half-brother to the blue weyrling M'rah. Dragon's Name: Katajath Color: Blue Age: 6 Age of Rider at Impression: 14 Description: Katajath is a sturdy blue with wide wings and slightly shorter and thicker tail than is usual. He doesn't have any Threadscars, but does have one ordinary one along his ribs that looks like he had been dragged along uneven rock for a ways, which is not, in fact, all that far from truth. Personality: Seemingly more sensible than his rider, Katajath takes his mission to protect his rider's life very seriously. And it's a good thing he does, considering O'daron's occasional disregard for his own safety. On the other hand Katajath is proud that his rider trusts him so unquestioningly. He is a very friendly dragon, having learned a great deal of patience since Impressing his human, and also shares O'daron's life-long quest to make other people's lifes better or at least momentarily happier. |
